In Test of Student Bodies' Cognitive Abilities, Harvard Comes in Second to MIT

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology edged out Harvard in a study comparing cognitive skills released earlier this month. Unlike other college ranking systems, this study analyzed results from online games that use neuroscience to measure five aspects that contribute to intelligence: speed, attention, flexibility, memory, and problem solving.

Five Movies To Make You Glad You Aren't With Your Family For Thanksgiving

It may feel rather lonesome staying on campus while your roommates go home and revel in hedonistic feasting, but there's a silver lining to every isolated, stranded cloud. If you'd like to be reminded why a break from your family could be advantageous, we at Flyby think you should give these films a shot on Thursday night.

Remembering November 18, 2006

Let us remember that once upon a time, it was Nov. 18, 2006, a day that would go down in history as The Last Day Yale Won The Game.

The Other Harvard-Yale Game

As the Crimson and the Bulldogs faced off on the football field on Saturday, other Harvardians and Yalies were battling in the boardroom.

HUDS Number Twelve in the Country?

To all the students long tired of the assortment of Ranger cookies, tofu, and chickwiches awaiting them at the end of the line in Annenberg, it might be time for a reality check—or at least one website thinks so. The Daily Meal, a site dedicated to food reviews and recipes, ranked Harvard 12th in their list of the "52 Best Colleges for Food in America."

Goldman to Win The Game, Cornell's Ranking Anxiety, and 'Compliments' All Around

The quick and dirty about what's been going on around the Ancient Eight (and other schools too). Even Jon Stewart has weighed in on what's going down this weekend, and it's not looking good for the Bulldogs. According to the Yale Daily News' Cross Campus blog, when asked by a Yale student which team would win The Game, Stewart said: "I'm pretty sure Goldman Sachs wins that one." That means Harvard, right?

Harvard: Complicit in Promoting Communism?

Harvard University—center of truth, knowledge, and communism? It seems Bloomberg News has finally caught on to the trend. A Nov. 9 article entitled "Harvard-Trained Communists Vie for Power as Party Gathers" describes a series of executive training programs at Harvard's Kennedy School in which many of the world's leading communists have participated. While Bloomberg focused on Kennedy School graduates such as Li Yuanchao, Chen Deming, and Bo Guagua (all of whom are associated with the communist party elite) we at Flyby are surprised they didn't pick up on some other more obvious communist tendencies right at the university's center. Herewith, a closer look at what might have given Harvard away as a breeding ground for communism. Undergraduate Council

This Week's Fale

Last night, the Yale College Council sought a way to gather student suggestions for improving campus safety. They forwent the traditional surveys and round-table discussions in favor of a novel approach: a Google Doc open to the entire student body. Just an hour and a half later, the YCC locked the Google Doc to prevent further editing. The reason? The document had been overrun by Internet trolls.

Jessica Simpson Is Team Yale

It seems that even celebs are gearing up for The Game this Saturday. Singer and former reality-TV star Jessica Simpson stepped out on Friday wearing a sweatshirt in support of our friends down in New Haven, and it isn't the first time she's shown her allegiance for the bulldogs. Leaving no doubts as to where her loyalties lie, Simpson is engaged to Yale alum and former football player Eric Johnson, who scored the game-winning touchdown in the 1999 Harvard–Yale Game.

Head to Head: The Harvard-Yale Faceoff

In anticipation of The Game this Saturday, The Boston Globe published a story pitting Cambridge against New Haven. Sadly, there are several comparisons that the Globe got wrong. Out of nine categories, four went to Yale (and one was a tie.) Here is the real truth about which college city is better:
