A Discussion of Bioethics
Julian Savulescu, a professor of ethics at the University of Oxford, speaks about the moral framework revolving around bioethics in a Harvard Law School discussion. "There is no simple solution," emphasized Savulescu. He went on to conclude that bioprediction can be used ethically, however only in specific circumstances.
The River Before the Regatta
Boats dot the Charles River in the days before this weekend’s Head of the Charles regatta. The annual two-day event features competitors from across the world, and is the biggest regatta of its kind.

During the discussion, Odo also questioned whether photos in the digital age would have the same gravitas as historical photos.
The Ig Nobel Awards
Master of Ceremonies Marc Abrahams, dressed in a suit and a top hat literally topped off with duct tape, announces the winners of the 2015 Ig Nobel Prizes. The extravagant event featured nobel laureates, musical performances, and former prize winners in a crowded Sanders Theatre.
A Change in the MAC Quad
Despite some student objections, a portion of the MAC quad will be paved over to make way for an expanded parking lot.
Studying Atop Widener Steps
Taiga Abe '17 and Marlon Seijo '18, both neurobiology concentrators, study outside on top of Widener Library's steps, overlooking the yard. Though still shopping week, Seijo was already hard at work on Chemistry 17: “Principles of Organic Chemistry.”
After The Storm
Rainwater glistens on bikes locked outside DeWolfe after a thunderstorm on Tuesday afternoon. The storm, which was described as "severe" on the Harvard Alert System, occurred from approximately 4:08 to 4:45 p.m. and included hail, thunder, and lightning.
City Council Talks Rental Properties and Snow Removal
Residents raised concerns about snow removal and the forced evacuation of rental properties on 295 Harvard Street at the Cambridge City Council’s weekly meeting on Monday.
