Women's Volleyball Drops Weekend Trio of Matches, Looks to Rebound in D.C.
Last weekend saw Harvard women’s volleyball compete in the Northeastern Tournament, the middle trio of the Crimson’s non-conference slate before Ivy League play begins on Sept. 24 at Dartmouth. The Crimson rallied from straight-set losses to Bryant University (5-5, 0-0 NEC) and Villanova University (6-3, 0-0 Big East) to win two sets in a narrow defeat to the tournament hosts, who improved to 4-6 (0-0 CAA) with the win. Harvard’s three setbacks dropped the team’s record to 1-5 as it prepares for the Howard Invitational on Sept. 17-18 in Washington, D.C.

Women’s Volleyball Suffers Pair of Ivy Losses in Trip to New York
Harvard went into Columbus Day Weekend with new-found optimism: the squad was coming off a 3-0 win against Brown (9-6, 1-4 Ivy) that snapped an eight game losing streak and garnered the team its first league win of the season. Despite the team’s success in Rhode Island, this past weekend the Crimson (3-11, 1-4) only managed to win one set in two games in New York, falling to Columbia on Friday and Cornell on Saturday. As such, the team ended its stretch on the road with a 1-4 record in Ivy League play.
