Pforzheimer

Pfoho is a beautiful house, with many facilities and ample space for its 377 residents. In terms of Quad house rankings, Pfoho is consistently at the top. Pfoho students enjoy a multitude of rooming options, including apartment style housing in the Jordans as well as large singles with hardwood floors in Wolbach Hall. Everyone is generally pleased with their rooms, and there are many common spaces available to residents. Even as sophomores, most residents are given singles, so say adios to finding your roommate’s laundry in your hamper. Of course, while it almost goes without saying, the obvious downside to Pfoho is the distance from the rest of campus life.

In a word, amazing. Some rooms have floor length windows, everyone is almost guaranteed a single, and you might even get your very own kitchen. The different halls of Pfoho are Moors, Holmes, or Comstock, the three of which have two-floored suites on the fourth and fifth floors, Wolbach, which are suites with massive common rooms, and the the Jordans, which are the distinctively red-and-gray buildings that are actually located across the street from the Quad itself that have single bedrooms, kitchenettes, and living rooms. You may strike gold with the Pfoho Bell Tower Suite, one of the largest party suites on campus. It comes with a slanted skylight, a massive common room, and a built-in bar.

The Community

From Pfilm Club to the Pforum series, Pfoho student life is bustling with activities. The Pfull English Breakfast is a Pfoho treat from the House Masters and the two-story dining hall is known as a central hub of community within Pfoho. Pfoho is known for its annual 90s party, where students show up in theme ready to dance their hearts out year after year. After your workout in the Pfoho Aerobics room, you can take a peek in the Pfojo (a martial arts space) before hunkering down in the “spa,” aka one massage chair. Pfoho residents all share an immense sense of house pride as well as the same obsession of putting a “pf” before pfeverything; It’s kind of pfannoying.

Ultimately, looking past all the pfun, you soon realize that Pfoho is just another house in the Quad. Plus, the Jordans are across the street from the Quad itself, and not connected to the rest of the house or to the Harvard population at large for that matter. You may have your single and your awesome dining hall, but that also comes with a shuttle ride of wonderpfulness!
