The injuries that cross-country runners suffer are often the result of overuse. In a sport with little physical contact, traumatic injuries become something of a rarity. But this was not the case last year for sophomore James Leakos, who suffered a concussion in the 2010 edition of the Harvard-Yale meet in New Haven.
Instead, the Crimson (3-4) suffered two gut-wrenching losses against nonconference opponents, dropping a home game, 5-4, against Hofstra (4-2) on Friday and falling 3-2 to University of Rhode Island (4-3-1) in a double-overtime loss on Sunday.
