The Advertiser, concerning the Harvard Annex, says: "Those who favor the higher education of women, and who appreciate the extraordinary advantages accruing to the members of the annex from their use of the Harvard library, the museum, the many free lectures and readings, will doubtless take prompt steps to place the society on a stable foundation. Endowments for professorships are not what the annex needs, for the instruction of members of the Harvard faculty is always procurable, but a liberal income to be used in the payment of the college professors is indispensable for the near future. With privileges close at hand, usable for the asking, which it would cost millions to establish at another point, it is hardly likely that the growth of the annex will be suffered to be retarded for lack of permanent income."
