It is said that a number of those who live without the prayer limits are hesitating to sign the petition. These men claim that it is not a matter with which they are concerned. Their view, however, seems due to a misapprehension in regard to the petition. This document is meant to be expression of undergraduate opinion in regard to the advisability, or unadvisability of compulsory attendance at prayers. It maters not where a man lives, he should have some opinion on this affair of general college interest. So signing the petition is as legitimate for him as for anyone else. It is a thing which a man should do from principle rather than from personal convenience.
