We cannot congratulate ourselves too much that we have had the privilege of hearing a course of lectures by M. Ferdinand Brunetiere of the French Academy. M. Brunetiere is unquestionably in the very first rank of living critics; he has given us, in pure and eloquent French, his own observations on Moliere, whom he considers to be the greatest writer of the most glorious century in French literature.
