The number of candidates for the Yale crew is at present only eleven. The unsuccessful candidates have turned their attention to their respective class crews. On Monday the crew took its first meal at the training table, and from now up to the date of the race the men will keep in strict training. Of the eleven candidates only three rowed in last year's boat but Caldwell who is trying, rowed as stroke in '87. The names of the men are given below, the first four of whom have rowed in a 'Varsity boat before. Woodruff, '89, (captain); Hartwell, '89, S.; Brewster; Caldwell, T. S.; Allen, '91; Ferris, '91; Harrison, '90; Ischam, '91; Newell, '90; Mosle, '89; Rogers, '90, S. Thompson will occupy his old place as coxswain.
