Just before the Christmas recess the students in this University from the states of Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Norfh Dakota and South Dakota, Montana and Wyoming territory, held a meeting at the rooms of Mr. F. H. Shaver, 5 Thayer. It was agreed that students from the states named above should form an organization to be called the "Western Club" for the purpose of encouraging young men in the west to come to Harvard College and of helping them to get settled when they get here. There will be no dues in the society and it is to be hoped that all students from the states mentioned will consider themselves members. A second meeting will be held shortly after the mid-year examinations. Officers were elected as follows: J. R. Finlay, Colorado Springs, Colorado, president, R. E. Leach, Independence, Iowa, vice-president; F. H. Shaver, Des Moines, Iowa secretary and treasurer.
