The Graduate Courses at Yale have been thrown open to women this year, and a very gratifying number have taken advantage of the opportunity. The number thus far is twenty-one. The greater majority are graduates from their colleges of at least three years standing, while one obtained her degree in 1872. One already has the degree of Ph.D. and two have the degree of A. M. Vassar graduates number six, while there are three from Wellesley and two from Smith. Quite a number are from western colleges. Out of the twenty-one but five are graduates of last year.
