The candidates for the '96 eleven have been at work under Captain Borden for the past week, and although the men are on the whole light and inexperienced, Borden hopes by hard work to get a good team for the class series.
The coaching so far has been done by Rice, Duffield and Bullard, all of whom played last year.
There are several fairly good men for each of the positions and the men who play on the eleven in the class series will only be able to do so by the hardest kind of work. Now, the most promising candidates are: Backs, Hamlen, Scott, Morton and Ingalls; ends, Duff, Selfridge, Norton and Mann; tackles, Steedman, Booth, Kerne and Dibblee; guards, Paine and Thomas; centers, Fox and Roman. Besides these there are several good men still playing with the second 'varsity.
