An adjourned meeting of the board of overseers was held at NO. 50 State street on Wednesday. when it was voted to concur with the President and Fellows in the election of John Collins Warner as professor of surgery: Thomas M. Rotch, professor of the diseases of children; James J. Putnam, professor of the diseases of the nervous system; Amos L. Mason; assistant professor of clinical medicine from Sept. 1, 1893-and appointing John C. Wait assistant professor of engineering for five years from Sept. 1. 1893; and Charles T. Copeland instructor in English and lecturer on English literature for one year from Sept. 1, 1893.

The following instructors were reap pointed in concurrence for one year from September 1, 1893: In operative dentistry, Forest G. Eddy, Ezra F. Taft, Edwin C. Blaisdell, Henry W. Gillett, Waldo E. Boardman, Frederick Bradley, Leonard N. Howe, Henry L. Upham, Elsie P. Holmes, Henry A. Kelley, Benjamin H. Codman; in mechanical dentistry, Arthur H. Stoddard, Sidney R. Bartlett, Harry O. Bixby, Arthur W. Eldred; in surgical pathology, George H. Monks; in neurology, George L. Walton; as clinical lecturers in operative dentistry, William H. Potter and Dwight M. Clapp; as demonstrator of mechanical dentistry, Patrick W. Moriarty; as demonstrator of operative chemistry, Joseph T. Paul; as instructor in chemistry, Joseph Torrey; as preachers to the University, Rev. Leighton Parks, D. D., Rev. E. Winchester Donald, D. D., Rev. Washington Gladden, D. D.; as proctor, Montague Chamberlain.

Proctors for one year from September 1, 1893, were appointed as follows: Robert MacDougal, Walter C. Douglass, Jr., and Edwin V. Morgan. Edward Robinson was appointed lecturer on the history of Greek art, Archibald C. Coolidge instructor in history, Arthur J. Oldham and Frederick S. Hopkins instructors in operative dentistry, and Rev. John H. Vincent, D. D., preacher to the university, all for one year from September 1, 1893.
