In Upper Dane on Saturday the Chess Club easily won the tournament with the chess club from Phillips Andover. The Harvard players lost but one game out of eleven, and this was won by an Andover instructor.

Ryder '97 defeated Freund.

Hewins, Jr., '97 defeated Holmes '97.

Long '98 defeated Merrill '98.
