A new system of distribution of special delivery mail in Cambridge has been put in practice.
Special delivery mail dropped in at the Cambridge office will hereafter be delivered in any part of Cambridge and North Cambridge and all of Cambridgeport west of the Boston and Albany railroad. Special delivery letters mailed at the North Cambridge Post Office will be delivered to any part of North Cambridge and that protion of Cambridge west of Dana street and Putnam avenue, and north of River street. Special delivery letters mailed at Cambridgeport Post Office will be delivered to any part of Cambridgeport and that portion of Old Cambridge east of Sparks, Craigie, Shepard and Sacramento streets.
These deliveries will be made by messengers, direct from the different offices, and special delivery mail addressed within these limits will no longer await the despatch from the different offices by mail car, as formerly.
These deliveries will be made from the Cambridge and Cambridgeport offices from 7 a. m. to 9.30 p. m., and from North Cambridge from 7 a. m. to 8 p. m. On Sundays and holidays from 8 to 10 a. m. at all these offices, and from 5 to 9.30 p. m. from Cambridge and Cambridgeport.
