Fencing Club.

Of the members of the Fencing Club who have fenced before, A. G. Thatcher '97 is the only man available for the team which is to be sent to the Fencing Club Tournament in New York on March 18. A. F. Riggs '98, who was a member of last year's junior team, is unfortunately ill and will probably not be able to fence. The most promising candidates for the two remaining positions are H. Clapp, 1900, F. W. Palfrey '98, M. Green 1L., L. Luquer '99, A. B. Lapsly '99, and W. A. Talcott 1L. Clapp has a weak wrist and is listless; Palfrey is quick but has little form; Green shows his lack of experience; Luquer is slow; Lapsly is painstaking but not quick on the parry; Talcott slashes a good deal. If interest is kept up and the men continue to work a good team ought to be turned out in spite of the general lack of experience. It is hoped that the college tournament which will probably come off in a couple of weeks will develop outside material.
