THE 'VARSITY CREW.

Repairs in the Tank.- Regular Rowing to be Begun this Week.

The work of the crew during the past week has consisted of light exercises in the Carey Building, followed by short runs and handball. The crew has only been able to row in the tank once, on Wednesday. The increased weight of water in the tank coming upon the cement foundation instead of upon the zinc floors, started a leak. Men were set to work immediately, putting in a firm foundation in place of the sand and brick under the tank floor, and when new cement has been laid over this the tank will be perfectly strong and water tight.

Besides this work the boat has been lowered ten inches and the depth of water when the tank is refilled will be but eighteen inches.

All the work will probably be completed on Tuesday and on that day the crew will commence regular rowing.
