The University golf championship, held under the auspices of the Harvard Golf Club, will begin next Wednesday on the club's links at Watertown. A gold medal will be given to the champion and a silver medal to the runner-up. The competition will be open to all members of the University. The qualifying round of 18 holes must be played next Wednesday. The first sixteen men will compete by hole play for the championship. A blue-book has been placed with Leavitt and Peirce for entries which will close next Monday. Entry fee, 50 cents.
