The candidates for the cricket team played out-doors for the first time, yesterday. They have been practising in the gymnasium cage, since the Christmas vacation, and are in pretty good form at present. Most of the old men and a number of the new ones were out. There is promise of a good team, and it is hoped that the eleven will go to Philadelphia, and play the University of Pennsylvania and other teams. The practice yesterday, consisted in bowling and batting. Following is a list of the candidates:

MacVeagh, H. A. Davis, Pool, Kaulbach, S. A. M. Skinner, McAllister, Nichols, Harvey, Meader, Pier, Garrett, Chew.
