The College nine defeated the Vesper Country Club at Lowell Saturday in a close and exciting game, by a score of 8 to 6. The College nine played well in all but the third inning.

J. Galbraith pitched for three innings, when he was succeeded by Sears, who struck out six men and allowed but one hit. Vesper made five runs in the third inning on four hits and three errors. They thus secured a lead which they held until in the eighth, with the score 6 to 5, the College nine made three runs. A. Galbraith made a hit, stole second and came in on Slade's three-base hit. Slade scored on a short hit.
