Fall Rowing

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Rowing at the Weld and Newell boat clubs is now fairly under way. Two eights went out from the Newell Club yesterday afternoon. One was composed of Seniors and Juniors and was stroked by F. L. Higginson, Jr., '00, and the other was a Freshman barge. Glendon, the new coach, will take charge of the crews this afternoon and will pay particular attention to the Freshmen.

The Weld crews have been rowing regularly during the past week and for this reason have an advantage over the Newell crews. The Freshman crews ought to be unusually good this year, because of the large number of men entering the club who have rowed on interscholastic crews. The Sophomore crew is rowing from the Weld Club with the same makeup it had last spring. D. Evans '01 has resigned from the captaincy of the Weld junior crew, and will not row again this fall, and C. W. Locke '01 has taken his place as captain and stroke.
