The Harvard Freshman eleven defeated the Pennsylvania freshmen on Soldiers Field, Saturday, by the decisive score of 41 to 5. The Pennsylvania players were outweighed to a marked degree and the result of the game was at no time in doubt. They played a creditable uphill game however, in spite of their light weight, and forced Harvard to work hard for every touchdown. Few long gains were made through their line, and Harvard's touchdowns were made by short plunges after good end runs. Pennsylvania held Harvard only once for downs and gained the required five yards but twice.

The Harvard Freshmen played poor football during the first half. They had no dash, and lined up and started slowly. Only two touchdowns were made in thirty minutes. In the second half, however, they showed a decided improvement and rolled up a total of twenty-nine points in twenty-five minutes of play. Their defense was unexpectedly strong, Pennsylvania being unable to gain at any point. On the offense, Harvard was weak and the large score was due principally to Pennsylvania's poor defense. The Harvard forwards failed to open up holes, and the backs started irregularly. But, on the whole, the team showed that it had fair possibilities.

Pennsylvania scored on a pretty dropkick from the 20-yard line. For Harvard, Stillman played an excellent game, punting well, and running low and hard. He kicked six out of seven goals. Hersey was a good ground gainer, and Graydon did well at guard, often breaking through and tackling the runner for a loss. Clarke played a low and hard game at end.
