The University of Michigan won the Western football championship yesterday by defeating the University of Minnesota, 23 to 6. The playing, although ragged, was marked by great flerceness, while several spectacular features made the game a most interesting one. Michigan won through superior team work, by which the eleven scored twice in the first half on touchdowns by Maddock and Heston, and twice in the second on a 30 yard run by Heston, and a difficult field goal by Sweeley. Minnesota's only touchdown was made by Flynn on a tumble at the opening of the second half.

The scores of other games yesterday were:

Columbia, 6: Syracuse, 6.

Carlisle, 21: Germantown, 0.

Lafayette, 23: Dickinson, 0.
