HUPD Chief Says Harvard Yard Encampment is Peaceful, Defends Students’ Right to Protest

1905-1906 Debate Tonight.

The second debate of the interclass series will take place this evening in the Fogg Lecture Room at 8 o'clock between the Sophomore and Freshman debating teams. The subject will be: "Resolved. That the attitude of the United States as defined by the Monroe Doctrine, with regard to territory, in the Western Hemisphere, should be continued." The Sophomores will have the affirmative and will speak in the following order: W. O. Hubbard, G. G. Smith, I. I. Mattuck. R. P. Dietzman, is the alternate. The order of the Freshman speakers will be: J. W. Plaisted, A. E. Wood, H. A. Hirshberg. W. W. Corlett is the alternate.

G. Bettman '03 will preside and the judges will be: Professor E. Emerton '71, I. Grossman 2L. and A. S. Hayes '91.

The order for the rebuttal speeches will be as follows: 1905--G. G. Smith, W. G. Hubbard, and I. I. Mattuck; 1906--J. W. Plaisted, A. E. Wood and H. A. Hirshberg.
