CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP RACE.

The race for the class crew championship will be rowed this afternoon at 3.30 o'clock, that for the losing crews of Monday at 8. The course will be down stream, starting at the Longwood Bridge, and finishing at the Union Boat Club, a distance of a mile and seven-eighths. This will give the crews the benefit of a strong ebb tide, and, other conditions being favorable, good time should be made.

The officials will be: G. Mumford '87, E. C. Storrow '89, R. D. Humphreys '05 and R. D. Kernan '05.

The drawing for the positions gave the Sophomores the wall, with the Juniors, the Law School and the Seniors next in order.

The Law School crew is an unknown quantity as they have rowed no races this season. The times made on Monday would seem to give the Juniors the advantage, but the Seniors and Sophomores, on the other hand, were not pushed in their races.

Following is the order of the crews who will compete for the class championship:

Law School Crew--Stroke, Cunningham; 7, Swaim; 6, Swift; 5, Anderson; 4, Perkins; 3, Duffy; 2, Howe; bow, Bolling.

Senior Crew -- Stroke, Bancroft; 7, Francis; 6, Shuebruk; 5, Colby; 4, Covel; 3, Morse; 2, Richardson; bow, Brooks.

Junior Crew--Stroke, Wolcott; 7, Hartwell; 6, Derby; 5, Bent; 4, Greenough; 3, James; 2, E. B. Roberts; bow, George.

Sophomore Crew--Stroke, Dillingham; 7, Lindsley; 6, Jackson; 5, May; 4, Sanger; 3, Lloyd; 2, Minturn; bow. Fairchild.

The race for the losing crews of Monday should go to the Newell Juniors, according to the time made on last Monday and owing to shake-ups in the opponents' boats. The Senior Newell has the wall, the Junior and Sophomore Newell are next in order, and the Weld Junior second has the outside.

Junior Newell--Stroke, McGrew; 7, Ayer; 6, Foster; 5, Haycock; 4, Stone; 3, Clark; 2, Brown; bow, Boardman.

Second Junior Weld--Stroke, Locke; 7, Ernst; 6, Inglis; 5, Hatch; 4, Macdonald; 3, Du Bois; 2, T. D. Roberts; bow, Blaikie.

Sophomore Newell--Stroke, Phillips; 7, Dunbar; 6, Thanisch; 5, Conger; 4, Foster; 3, Hall; 2, Seabury; bow, Hunt.

As only twenty-three men signed the blue book at Leavitt's for the tug, the management has been forced to give up the idea of having one.
