The annual tournament to decide the University whist championship will begin in about two weeks. Silver cups will be given to the winners of the tournament and the men who do the best work will make up the team to play Yale. As only three members of last year's team of eight have returned, there are at least five places on the team to be filled.
A blue book has been placed at Leavitt's in which entries, at $1 a pair, may be made until November 25. The pairs will be divided into sections as near five each as possible and each pair will play the other pairs of its section. The two highest in each section will enter the semi-final round. Every match will consist of sixteen hands at duplicate whist.
