Finals of Singles Races Yesterday.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Under almost perfect weather conditions the final heats of the single scull and wherry races were rowed yesterday afternoon. The courses were the same as the day before and were rowed down stream, on account of the expressed preference of the competitors. In the single scull race E. E. Smith 1L., won a very close contest from M. King, Jr., '04, who finished about 8 feet behind him. Both, men rowed well, and, although Smith led for most of the course, the outcome was uncertain until the very last. In spite of the fact that there was a slight tide against him, Smith covered the course in the creditable time of 6 minutes and 15 seconds.

A. B. Taylor '04 won the wherry race by about six lengths from J. W. Russell '06. No time was taken in this race.

The winners of the races will receive pewter cups; no second prizes will be given.
