The eleventh annual intercollegiate chess tournament between teams representing Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Columbia, will be held at the Columbia Grammar School, in New York City, on December 28, 29, and 30. Each college will be represented by a team of four men, and each man will play the corresponding men on the other three teams. The winning team will have possession of the intercollegiate challenge cup for the following year, and each man on the team will receive a silver medal. Of the ten tournaments already held, Harvard has won six, Princeton two, Yale one and Columbia one.
The University team and two substitutes will be chosen from the men who evidence the most ability in the series of final matches which will be played before the Christmas recess.
