The fifth annual cable chess tournament for the Isaac L. Rice trophy, between the representatives of Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Columbia, and those of Oxford and Cambridge will take place on March 27 and 28. The American players will play in the gymnasium of the Boston Athletic Association. The following six men were chosen by the presidents of the Chess Clubs of the American Universities to compose the team: C. T. Rice 2G, and P. W. Bridgman '04, of Harvard; F. W. Sewall '04, and H. A. Keeler '03, of Columbia; J. F. Sawin '04, of Yale; and C. S. Richardson '03, of Princeton, G. W. Tucker, Jr., '05, of Columbia; J. H. Hankinson '03, of Princeton; and E. B. Hull '05, of Yale, were named as substitutes.

Of the four previous matches, Great Britain has won two, America one, and one match has been drawn.
