Lacrosse Practice Begins.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Preliminary practice for the University lacrosse candidates began yesterday in the handball courts back of the Gymnasium with stick work and passing and catching. As soon as the men learn to pass and catch fairly well, they will be sent out on Holmes Field for more extended work. Practice on Soldiers Field will not begin until the ground has dried out, and by that time it is hoped the new men will have so mastered the rudiments of the game, as to be on an equal footing with the older players. The captains of the class teams for this year will probably be chosen before the close of the week and the men will thereafter practice in class squads.
