Lifeless Basketball Practice.

The University basketball team defeated the second team in practice yesterday afternoon by a score of 16 to 4. The work of the men as a whole was poor and showed few signs of team-work, but this was probably due to the absence of Randall, Gring and K. Smith from the line-up.

There was a total lack of aggressiveness and the men did not cover or follow their opponents well. The shooting on both teams was wretched and repeatedly short and easy shoots for baskets were missed. Coach Barnes explained several tricks to the men which will be developed more fully in the practice this afternoon.

The line-up yesterday was as follows: UNIVERSITY TEAM.  SECOND TEAM. Henderson, Underwood, l.f.  r.f., Jones Grant, r.f.  l.f., R. M. Hall Arnold, c.  c., E. O. Hall Bigelow, Stinchfield, l.g.  r.g., Dapping, Rankin Swift, r.g.  l.g., Pratt
