Professor Sumichrast lectured last evening in the Fogg Lecture Room on "The Seats of the Government during the French Revolution." He stated that the object of his series of lectures was to give a view of the Reign of Terror in Paris not usually taken by historians, and to reconstruct the setting of the scenes of that terrible period. Professor Sumichrast described the places where the Assemblies and the Convention held their sittings--the Archiepiscopal palace, the old Riding School and the Tuileries--telling of the stirring events which took place in each: he also explained the workings and significance of the great political societies of the time. The lecture was fully illustrated with reproductions of contemporary documents, portraits and paintings.
