Coaches have been chosen by the captains of the upperclass rowing squads as follows: Seniors, J. Lawrence '01; Juniors, H. Bancroft '97; Sophomores, J. F. Perkins '99. Vall will coach the Freshman club class crews.
Twenty-five Seniors, thirty Juniors, and twenty-five Sophomores are reporting daily for class crew practice. The Freshman club class crew squad numbers thirty men and the class crew squad, thirty-three men. With the exception of the latter, which is working only on the machines, all the squads are practicing both on the machines and in the tank. The work is still ragged, the men rowing poorly together, with a particularly weak finish.
The practice of the University crew squad consists in individual work and work in eights under the direction of coach Colson. As the men have been rowing together for only a few days, it is impossible to criticize the showing made so far.
