Fall Lacrosse Starts Monday

Fall practice for the University and Freshman lacrosse teams will begin on Soldiers Field Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock. All men in the University who have played lacrosse and any men who would like to learn the game, especially 1909 men are urged to come out. The practice will last three weeks, and will end with a game between a picked team from the squad and a team of graduates. If enough men report, a series of class games will also be arranged. Separate squads will be formed for Freshmen and upper classmen. R. J. Hardy, a member of the University team in 1901 and later a member of the Crescent Athletic Club team, Brooklyn, will coach the upper class squad, and H. H. Bennett, captain in 1904, will probably coach the Freshmen.

An especial effort will be made this fall to drill a large Freshman squad in the fundamentals of the game, so that when spring practice starts, attention can be turned at once to developing team play. All 1909 men who are not engaged in some other form of athletics are therefore urged to report Monday.

The prospect is good for a strong University team this year, as several of the best players from last year's team are back in College, and much good material is available from the strong 1908 team. E. J. Wendell 2nd. is captain for this year.
