The University chess team will play the Institute of Technology this evening at the Chess Club in Boston. This match is in the third round of the Metropolitan League tournament.

From the eight men still playing in the third trial round, a team of four will be chosen to compete in the intercollegiate tournament, which will be held at the West Side Republican club, New York, probably from December 21 to 28 inclusive. In this tournament in which Yale, Princeton and Columbia will enter teams, chances strongly favor the University team, as Harvard has already defeated Yale who in turn, has defeated Princeton and Columbia.
