In response to the first call for Freshman crew candidates, 60 men reported yesterday afternoon at the University Boat Club. No practice was held, the men merely registering their weights and previous experience. The candidates will be divided into small squads, and the most experienced men will be placed temporarily in the first squad. No regular practice will be hold until Monday at 3.30, when daily work on the machines will begin under the direction of Coach Wray, and will continue until the river opens in the spring.
