NEW YORK, March 8.--In the dual gymnastic meet between Harvard and Columbia, which was held this evening at the Columbia gymnasium, Harvard was defeated by the score of 38 to 18. Columbia won by general superiority, winning four out of the six events. For Harvard S. E. Goodwin '07 did the best work, winning in the flying rings and getting second in the tumbling. W. C. Bennett also did well, winning the club swinging and getting a third place in the tumbling. Schoonmaker was the best man for Columbia.
Individually H. S. Schoonmaker of Columbia was first, S. E. Goodwin '07 second, and J. A. Voscamp, Columbia, and W. C. Bennett '08, were tied for third place.
