State Tennis Tournament June 15

The fourteenth annual tennis tournament for the championship of Massachusetts will be held on Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday, June 15, 17, and 18, on the grass courts of the Longwood Cricket Club.

The championship was held in 1894 and 1895 by F. H. Hovey L.'93; 1896, by G. L. Wrenn, Jr., '96; 1897, by H. Ward '00; 1898, by L. E. Ware, '99; 1899, by M. D. Whitman '99; 1900, by D. F. Davis '00; 1901 to 1904, by B. C. Wright '03; 1905 and 1906, by R. C. Seaver, who will again be called upon to defend his title against the winner of the tournament. Prizes will be awarded the winner of the tournament and the runner-up.

Play will begin Saturday at 2 o'clock, and will continue on Monday, Bunker Hill Day, at 10 o'clock, and on Tuesday at 3.30 o'clock. All matches will be best two in three advantage sets, except the challenge match, which will be best three in five. Entries, which should be accompanied by the entrance fee of $1, will be received up to 4 o'clock on Friday, June 14, by R. C. Seaver, P. O. Box 392, Boston; to him, also, mail communications in regard to the tournament should be addressed, while communications by telephone should be made to the Longwood Cricket Club, Brookline 814-2.
