HARVARD'S EASY VICTORY

The University hockey team won his third game in the intercollegiate championship series Saturday afternoon by defeating Dartmouth 10 to 3. The University team played first-class hockey throughout the first half and at the end of that time had the overwhelming lead of 8 to 1. In the second half the Harvard forwards failed to play so well together as earlier in the game. The Dartmouth defense, moreover, braced perceptibly and staved off a larger score.

In the first half, the forwards, aided by Ford's brilliant playing kept the puck continually in the Dartmouth territory. The passing and shooting of Pell and Rumsey in particular was marked by present any organized play, and her scores were the result of Foote's individual ability to seize upon opportunities.

Newhall from a scrimmage, shot the first goal. A moment later Ford brought the puck up the ice, and made the second tally. The third and fifth goals were made by Pell from passes by Rumsey, the latter scoring the intermediate one. Rumsey soon scored again. At this point Dartmouth made her first score when Foote received the puck from a face off sent it in. A goal by Newhall, and another by Rumsey ended the half. For the first ten minutes of the second half there was no scoring. The defense of Willetts and Ford was very strong.

In the second half the Dartmouth players covered their opponents more closely, abandoning all attempts at concerted offense. At length Hicks pushed the puck into the net for another score. Foote then made several brilliant, dashes toward the Harvard goal and twice shot the puck into the net. Rumsey made the last score of the game.

The Yale hockey team defeated Princeton Saturday night by the score of 6 to 4. This victory over Dartmouth, with Yale's defeat of Princeton, places Harvard and Yale in a tie for the intercollegiate championship, and adds great interest to the final game of the season to be played in New York next Saturday.
