The University football team will play the University of Maine in the Stadium this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Maine team is considerably lighter than the Harvard team but is fast and has not been scored on in any of its games this season. Three games have been played; the Massachusetts Agricultural College held Maine to a 0 to 0 tie, but Fort McKinley was defeated 6 to 0, and New Hampshire State College 16 to 0. Last year the University team won a 16 to 0 victory over Maine in the second game of the season.

During the past week a number of the regular man have been out of the game, so that the Harvard team has not developed very fast. Perkins has been tried at centre with P. Withington at his old position at guard. However, as Perkins was slightly hurt in the scrimmage on Thursday, the line will be the same as in the previous games, with the exception of Captain Fish, whose position will be filled by L. Withington. The backfield will have Frothingham, Leslie and Long, three men who have shown up well during the week's practice, and O'Flaherty will start the game at quarterback.

The teams will line up as follows: HARVARD.  MAINE. Houston, l.e.  r.e., Buck McKay, l.t.  r.t., Fisher West, l.g.  r.g., Hilton P. Withington, c.  c., Derby Fisher, r.g.  l.g., Wright L. Withington, r.t.  l.t., Ray G. G. Browne, r.e.  l.e., Cook O'Flaherty, q.b.  q.b., Cleaves Frothingham, l.h.b.  r.h.b., Pond Leslie, r.h.b.  l.h.b., Hosmer Long, f.b.  f.b., Smiley

Short Secret Practice.

The secret practice yesterday afternoon was very light and there was no scrimmage. F. H. Burr '09 was in charge of the squad in the absence of Coach Haughton. A short and fast signal practice, followed by a number of practice kick-offs, was all that the first team was allowed before it was sent in.
