The University cross-country team will race the Massachusetts Institute of Technology this afternoon at 2.45 o'clock. The race will be held over the old Technology course, starting opposite the Highland Club in West Roxbury, crossing the Larz Anderson estate, and finishing on the Technology Field near Brookline Village, where the last quarter of a mile will be run on the track. The distance to be covered is slightly more than four miles, and the course is a difficult one. The record for the course is held by H. Jaques, Jr., '11, who won the race last year in 23 minutes, 2 4-5 seconds.
In scoring, the first six men of each team will be counted. Each place will count according to its numerical value, and the team having the least total will win. This will be the sixth annual race. Technology has won three, Harvard two. In last year's race, Technology won by the score of 35 to 46.

G. Watkins '12, P. D. White '11. G. K. Billings, B. A. A., will be the referee, and P. H. Pearson, of Technology, the starter. The judges will be W. F. Garcelon L.'96 and C. C. Little '10 for Harvard, and R. H. Allen and F. H. Briggs for Technology. The timers, L. M. Little '10 for Harvard, and P. H. Pearson for Technology.
