The University hockey team defeated Dartmouth in the Stadium Saturday afternoon by the score of 5 to 0 in the fourth intercollegiate match of the Harvard schedule.

On account of the storm of Saturday morning the ice was in poor condition, and consequently the game contained little passing or team-play on either side. For the first time this season the Harvard team played with its regular line-up, Morgan being at right-centre and Huntington at point. For this reason there was a noticeable improvement in the aggressiveness of the team as a whole, and in spite of the poor ice there were several flashes of good team-play between the University forwards. The defence, too, showed up well and although the condition of the ice considerably slowed up the individual players of the Dartmouth team, Chadwick at goal had very few stops, chiefly owing to the accurate work of Foster and Huntington. The University forwards, especially Hicks and Morgan, followed back well and several times overtook the Dartmouth forwards before the latter encountered the opposing coverpoint. Taken altogether the game showed a great improvement in both the offensive and defensive work of the Harvard team.

From the very beginning of the game the puck remained in Dartmouth territory but owing to the necessity of individual work on the part of the University forwards, it was eight minutes before Hicks scored on a pass from Morgan. Just before the end of the half Hicks scored again on a long shot from the left side-boards.

At the beginning of the second half Dartmouth braced and the puck went back and forth in the middle of the rink. Towards the middle of the half Foster scored from far down the ice. Morgan then followed with two goals within 30 seconds of each other, the first being an accident, the Dartmouth goal himself sliding the puck into the goal. The second goal was caged on a beautiful shot from directly in front of the net.

The summary follows: HARVARD.  DARTMOUTH. Gardner, Leslie, l.e.  r.e., Doe Hicks, l.c.  r.c., Wells Morgan, r.c.  l.c., S. Eaton Hornblower, r.e.  l.e., Marston Foster, c.p.  c.p., F. Eaton, Stucklen Huntington, p.  p., Patten Chadwick, g.  g., Bullard
