Freshman Four-Oared Crews Chosen

The Freshman second crew defeated the Freshman third crew by three-quarters of a length over the one and three-quarters mile course in the Basin yesterday afternoon. At Cottage Farm Bridge the third crew was leading by a quarter of a length, at the three-quarter mile mark the second crew overtook the third, and soon had a lead of three-quarters of a length, which was maintained to the end of the race.

The orders:

Second Freshman crew.--Stroke, Eckfeldt; 7, Roosevelt; 6, Weston; 5, Handy; 4, Davis; 3, Morgan; 2, Sullivan; bow, Parker; cox., Brownlee.

Third Freshman crew.--Stroke, Sargent; 7, Nelson; 6, Vickery; 5, Frothingham; 4, Henderson; 3, Talbot; 2, Day; bow, Eager; cox., Bowne.

As a result of this race the following four-oared crews were chosen:

Crew A.--Stroke, Eckfeldt; 3, Morgan; 2, Sullivan; bow, Handy; cox., Brownlee.

Crew B.--Stroke, Sargent; 3, Frothingham; 2, Davis; bow, Parker; cox., Bowne.

Substitutes.--Weston, Roosevelt.
