NEXT YEAR'S HOCKEY TEAM

Team Should be a Strong One Though Good Men will be Lost by Graduation.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The outlook for a strong hockey team next year is very bright. Of the men who won their insignia in the past season, F. D. Huntington, this year's, captain, R. F. Duncan, and E. P. Pierce, forwards, and R. M. Blackall, P. K. Houston, and S. B. Smart, of the defence, will graduate this year.

Prospects for Forward Line.

F. H. Palmer '13 and A. F. Sortwell '14 who played left wing regularly this season and who was chosen by G. W. Hornfeck of the Wanderers for that position on the all-collegiate hockey team, will be the only regular University forwards eligible next year. Sortwell's work this year was remarkable and his playing on the B. A. A. team after the close of the University season shows him to be a strong man for next year's team. The possibilities for the forward positions, which are as yet undecided, are H. N. Baldwin '13, F. H. Palmer '13, H. C. Morgan '14, S. Adams '14, as well as M. B. Phillips '15, who was captain of his Freshman team, and D. deWindt '15.

Outlook for the Defence.

In the defence W. A. Willetts '14, who captained his Freshman team, and was point on the University team this year, will be the logical choice for this position. The position of coverpoint is an unsettled one. E. A. Graustein '13, D. J. P. Wingate '14, P. H. Smart '14, as well as W. H. Claflin, Jr., '15 of this year's Freshman team will make the competition for this place a keen one. H. B. Gardner '13 will remain at goal. His work on the University team this year was phenomenal and more recently he has done remarkably well on the B. A. A. team. As substitutes for this position there will be G. M. Carnochan, Jr., '14, F. Wigglesworth '15, and W. M. Washburn '15.
