FOOTBALL AT PRINCETON

Outlook Less Encouraging Than at Yale Though Men Reported Sept. 9.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Prospects at Princeton where the squad has been at work since September 9 are not so encouraging as at Yale. Captain Hart and White, of course, graduated this June, and the available material for the line is in the main inexperienced, and from what it has shown so far mediocre. In the backfield while Captain Pendleton, Sawyer, and Baker, of the 1911 team, are on hand, there are no men of any marked ability from last year's freshmen to supplement them. In fact last year's freshman team was disappointingly lacking in material of university calibre. The outlook as a whole then is far from bright, especially as Pendleton, Baker, and Sawyer are a fast, shifty combination rather than a line plunging machine. It must be remembered, however, that last season the Princeton line was supposed to be lacking in material and woefully weak until the Harvard game.
