MANY DIVERSIONS IN CAMBRIDGE

President and Mrs, Lowell Receive Students On Christmas Eve.

President and Mrs. Lowell cordially invite all students of the University who, remain in or near Cambridge during the recess to come to their home, 17 Quincy street, on Christmas Eve, from 8 to 10 o'clock.

Informal Gathering Friday

Phillips Brooks House extends a cordial invitation to all men who will be in Cambridge during the Christmas recess to come to an informal Christmas evening around the open fire. The doors will open at 5.30 o'clock on Friday, and members of the University will be welcome from then on throughout the evening. There will be an attractive program of readings and music, which will be followed later by refreshments. A student orchestra will play between a number of recitations, impersonations, songs, and humorous selections. The Parlor will be decorated for the occasion, and will contain a large Christmas tree.

University Tea on New Year's.

There will be no University Tea, on Christmas Day, but on Friday, January 1, the regular Tea will be held in the Parlor of Phillips Brooks House. On account of the large number of professors who do not know whether they will be in Cambridge at that time, the committee has found it impossible to make out a definite list of those who will be present. The regular committee, Mrs. C. Palache, Mrs. R. Thaxter, Mrs. Joseph Warren and Mrs. H. A. Yeomans, will receive and it is assured that several others will also attend. It is hoped that those men who remain in Cambridge will make it a point to attend. The tea will be smaller than usual, and will thus give a better opportunity for meeting members of the Faculty.

Smoker at Harvard Club.

The Harvard Club of Boston will hold a smoker and entertainment for all members of the University who remain in Cambridge over the recess, in the clubhouse on Monday evening December 28, at 8.30 o'clock.

Special Dinner at Union.

The Union will serve a special Christmas dinner on December 25 from 6 to 8 o'clock, at the regular price of 75 cents. This is open only to members of the Union
