Competition in the news and editorial departments of the CRIMSON will open October 5. There are from six to eight positions on the news board open to members of the class of 1917, about half of which will be filled at this time. All Sophomores who wish to enter this competition will report in the office on next Monday evening at 7 o'clock. At this time the managing editor will explain their duties, which will be largely gathering University news.
Also on next Monday evening the editorial writing competition will start. This is open to Juniors only. The work will consist of writing editorials.
