HAUGHTON CUP SERIES STARTS

UPPERCLASSMEN NOT ON ONE OF REGULAR SQUADS REPORT AT 3 TODAY.

The Haughton Cup scrub football series will start today. Freshmen are ineligible to play, but all men from the three upper classes who have ever played football at all, whatever their weight, should sign up in the blue-books at Leavitt & Peirce's at once.

The second football squad has been cut to 35 players, and the remaining men have formed a team to play in the series. The general direction of the series this year will be in the hands of D. Miller '16, who is unable to play football because of an injury. Men can form their own teams, elect their own captains, use their own style of play, and be independent organizations. Men signing individually will be divided up into teams by Coach Guild of the second team.

All men who have signed for the series should report at the Locker Building today at 3 o'clock, dressed to play. Practice will be held regularly, and men should report at that time, even though their team has not been fully organized.

This is an excellent opportunity for men who have heretofore considered themselves too poor to try for the University squad to secure individual instruction from experienced coaches, and to raise themselves by systematic training to University calibre. The series is competitive throughout; men showing promise in the series will be promoted to the regular second eleven, while members of the second eleven may be relegated to the Haughton Cup series to fill their places. The winning eleven will receive 15 cups to be distributed among those of its men participating in the majority of the games.
