MEETING FOR HOCKEY TEAM CANDIDATES DECEMBER 3

Preliminary Practice Will Begin on Following Monday, Work on Ice December 10.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

There will be a meeting for all candidates for the University hockey team at the Varsity Club on Friday, December 3, at 7.30 o'clock. Coach Winsor who has turned out extremely successful hockey teams in the past few years, and H. B. Gardner '13, captain of the 1913 University seven which won the intercollegiate championship, will outline the season's work. Actual practice will begin the following Monday, and will consist during the first few days in conditioning runs and shooting practice to get the men in trim for the regular work. This will start with the opening of the Arena on December 10. The schedule for the year is complete with the exception of one or two preliminary games, and will include the usual series with Yale and Princeton.

Freshmen Called a Week Later.

Candidates for the Freshman hockey team will be called out about a week later than the University squad. Their practice will consist of drill in the rudiments of the game until the ice rinks in the Stadium are ready for use. This will probably be directly after the Christmas recess. The Freshman squad will remain as a unit until after Christmas, when a first and a second squad will be chosen. The three dormitory teams will be picked from the latter squad. These men will engage in the usual series for the interdormitory championship. The Freshman manager candidates will be called out on the same day as men trying for the team.

Good Schedule for 1919.

The 1919 hockey schedule is unusually attractive this year, as it includes four trips for those who make the team. The complete schedule, subject to the approval of the Student Council and the Athletic Committee follows:

January 19--Milton Academy at Milton.

January 25--St. Marks's at Southboro.

January 29--Exeter at Cambridge.

February 5--Andover at Cambridge.

February 12--St. Paul's at Concord.

February 19--Yale 1919 at New Haven.
