Plan to Decrease Size of Council

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Student Council Committee on Size of the Council has reported the following proposed amendments to Article I, Section A of the Constitution: "that the number of elected members in the various classes be as follows: two Seniors, four Juniors, one Sophomore, and one Freshman. "That the five major sport managers be ex-officio members."

It has been felt in the past that the number of elected members has been too large, and the above amendments, if put in force, will reduce the size of the Council from 45 to 34 members. It was deemed advantageous to have four elected members from the Junior class, as two Junior members must serve on the Executive Committee, and this number would provide a nucleus around which to start the work of the Senior year.
